I love Arcade Fire I just wish I understood them

Five years ago I was sitting around the office with my boss and we reached one of our uncomfortable silences and he said, "have you been listening to Arcade Fire?" I had heard a few songs on KEXP that I liked but in no way was I actively seeking out more info on the band and had no intention of buying the cd. I paused and said uhh, not really, only what I hear on the radio. He stared at me for a second and cocked his head to one side and said, that's okay, you probably just don't understand them." From that day, I have been on a quest to understand Arcade Fire.
